Hey Thundercloud

There was a summer that some people were in really bad moods, but not me, so I had a temper tantrum about it. This one features Brendan’s world debut on the violin.  It’s a real live violin which belongs to Jeff Canfield, who now lives in Columbus Ohio where he does physics and things, and we found it in my mom’s garage.  There’s also timpani and a 96” bass drum (well, maybe a little smaller than that) which Brendan cut at UIUC and real piano cut at his mom’s in St. Louis.  We have a mini-version called “Hey Thunderdome” which sounds like it would if we were playing your prom and you were outside on the lawn making out or smoking or whatnot.  We had planned to record someone walking around and opening the gymnasium door and maybe whispering, but we went out for dinner instead.  That’s the fate of so many great recording ideas.
