Waiting for the bus in the morning with a bunch of strangers and pretending to be by yourself is weird. So is driving in a straight line on the right side of the street, but if ants can do it, so can we. Did you know that more people have heart attacks at 9 on Monday morning than any other time of the week, so sad are they at having to face five days of unsatisfying tasks? Men are half as likely to have heart attacks if they believe that their wives/partners love them. Maybe we should bring each other presents at the busstop and dance around a little bit so we all make it in to work alive.
This song was cut in both the A and B rooms of Private Studios (see links). Jon tracked drums (Brendan) and tube Wurlitzer piano (Todd) in A, and then Brendan added bass, guitars, keyboards, etc. and helped me survive vocals in the B room, which is secretly a two car garage with a coffeemaker. The trim is painted a nice color, the name of which has sparked much debate: “blood red”, “burgundy”, “inner maelstrom”, “brick”, or “beet smoothie”? An earlier dance version of this song was truly bizarre, but then it turned out the vocals were the problem all along.
