Mr. Creepy

Richard Speck, who killed all those nurses in Chicago, was discovered hiding out in a flophouse on skid row, and I think he was a sailor.  That’s how he got to be in this song.  I had written the lyrics along with a piano thing I had going (in A minor of course), and Brendan was working on this music, for which I had some words about some sad thing or the other like long lost family members, but the devil stuff fit better.  Melancholy was removed from the room. Remember the story of the man who trained and took really good care of a snake, the snake bit him anyway and said, as the man lay there dying, “What do you expect - I’m a snake”?  Pictured here is the Perfect Boyfriend from Dang #3: Monsters.  This character was based on an ultra arty dance song written by Brendan, Grace Pigozzi, and Phil Harris entitled “Give My Regards to Your Perfect Boyfriend” many years ago.  I think they were making fun of my perfect boyfriend.

Some of the people I know know a lot of scary biblical prophecies, Native American prophecies, and assorted foretellings.  Todd Fletcher says not to worry though, because the year that these events were to start happening has already passed, and nobody knew it, because they had calculated the birth of Christ incorrectly.  (Hey, I saw this in a magazine after Todd told me, so there are two reliable sources!) So happy 2004 or 5 and welcome to the other end of the world!
